Apartment deep cleaning in Kenya: Operations and Quality Checks
Deliver the agreed result consistently
Define deep cleaning room by room, naming cupboard interiors, appliance surroundings and furniture movement explicitly so residents understand which accumulated dirt is actually accessible.
The operating sequence for this offer is:
- Document existing damage. Document accessible surfaces, existing damage and excluded hazards before work. Obtain the site contact's agreement on access and shutdown arrangements.
- test products. Check each product against the surface and supplier instructions on an inconspicuous area. Keep incompatible chemicals separate and labelled.
- clean agreed areas. Control the working area and protect adjacent items while cleaning. Track consumables, labour and any area left inaccessible or unsafe.
- walk through completed work. Inspect the agreed checklist with the responsible site contact. Record drying restrictions, unresolved marks, damage observations and lawful waste-handling arrangements.
Put acceptance into the job record
Agreed visible surfaces cleaned without damage, with exclusions and inaccessible areas recorded.
Walk the apartment with the resident after tools are removed, inspecting agreed corners and touchpoints while distinguishing permanent surface damage from remaining removable soil.
Inspect at the point where a correction is still possible, then again at handover. Record rejected or incomplete output separately from accepted output. A completed task is not automatically an accepted task, and an invoice does not establish that the customer received the right result.
Measure real capacity
Time preparation, the main operation, transport, cleaning, approvals and correction as applicable. The slowest stage determines how much you can promise. Where two orders need the same person, space or equipment at the same time, resolve the conflict before confirming both deadlines. An additional enquiry should not erase a commitment already made.
| Operating checkpoint | Evidence for this business |
|---|---|
| Before starting | Define deep cleaning room by room, naming cupboard interiors, appliance surroundings and furniture movement explicitly so residents understand which accumulated dirt is actually accessible. |
| During delivery | test products. Check each product against the surface and supplier instructions on an inconspicuous area. Keep incompatible chemicals separate and labelled. |
| At acceptance | Walk the apartment with the resident after tools are removed, inspecting agreed corners and touchpoints while distinguishing permanent surface damage from remaining removable soil. |
| At the pilot review | Record room-level labour, inaccessible areas, product compatibility observations and resident corrections, then compare the estimate against actual work before quoting a similar home. |
Keep a correction and escalation rule
When inputs, access, specifications or customer instructions change, pause the affected work and confirm the effect on time and cost. Do not quietly lower the acceptance standard to avoid a delayed delivery. Keep rework caused by your error distinct from a customer-requested change of scope and agree the remedy clearly.
A fixed room-count quote misses a heavily greased kitchen, forcing rushed bathrooms or unpaid overtime that erases the apparent profit on the apartment.
Retain the minimum records needed to investigate a complaint without disclosing unrelated personal information. Use measured delivery and actual acceptance as the basis for expanding capacity, rather than the maximum theoretical output of a tool or production line.
Operating control points for this exact offer
| Sequence | Work method | Release checkpoint |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Walk the five areas with the resident and photograph chipped tile, peeling laminate and existing water marks. Identify stone, wood, laminate and glazed tile before choosing cleaners. | The signed map marks inaccessible spaces and the precise surfaces included. |
| 2 | Assign separate bathroom cloths and brushes, kitchen cloths and floor equipment. Secure ordinary waste and ask the resident to put valuables and medicines away. | No toilet cloth, brush or bucket enters the kitchen work stream. |
| 3 | Vacuum accessible edges and collect crumbs before damp wiping. Work on reachable higher ledges before the skirting and floor, using tools appropriate to delicate finishes. | A torch check reveals no loose edge dust where the vacuum could safely reach. |
| 4 | Trial the actual labelled product on a hidden matching surface, then clean cupboard fronts, counter and bathroom fixtures with their allocated tools. Recover residue rather than leaving strong product on finishes. | No colour transfers, swollen laminate edge or dull patch develops during the test. |
| 5 | Clean the floor last, keep access controlled while wet and walk each room with the resident. Record permanent marks and areas not reached behind heavy furniture. | Check skirting with a clean cloth, glass from two angles and the dried floor for sticky film. |
Do not substitute a tick for an observation: record the count, measurement, approved sample or evidence reference used at each checkpoint. Mark unresolved work as held and identify who can approve the recheck.
Diagnose a failure before repeating it
| Observed symptom to investigate | Check the cause | Proposed response |
|---|---|---|
| Floor feels sticky after drying | Check concentrate measurement, residue recovery and whether dirty water was repeatedly spread over the same floor. | Use the finish-compatible residue-removal method, change water/tools and reassess a small dried area before repeating. |
| Dark line remains along skirting | Distinguish loose dust from paint scuffing, damp damage or inaccessible grit behind furniture. | Re-vacuum reachable grit; document scuffs or damp defects instead of using a harsher cleaner blindly. |
| Cupboard edge becomes swollen | Stop and inspect whether moisture reached a damaged laminate edge recorded at intake. | Remove moisture safely, suspend that method and notify the resident; refer repair rather than disguising swelling. |
These are diagnostic prompts, not proof of the cause in a real incident. Separate suspect output, record any correction and repeat the relevant acceptance check. Link rejected units, rework time, replacement materials, customer credits and collection delays to the actual job result.
