KENYA · GUIDE 0022 · EDITION 4.2
Button mushroom growing in Kenya
Develop button mushroom production only with suitable technical support.
A CONCRETE EXAMPLE · ILLUSTRATIVE
Fictional button-mushroom order: a pizza kitchen buys twelve 500 g packs of cultivated button mushrooms, selecting the cap-opening stage it wants for slicing. Trial production uses supplier-prepared Agaricus growing compost and matched casing with written instructions, not a home-invented compost or fumigant recipe. Maintain tray codes B01–B06, casing receipt, harvest date and pack number. Six accepted kilograms is a fictional result used to illustrate costing; it is not a promised yield from the six trays.
