KENYA · GUIDE 0009 · EDITION 4.2
Cucumber growing in Kenya
Grow cucumbers graded for a buyer's size range.
A CONCRETE EXAMPLE · ILLUSTRATIVE
Fictional cucumber trial: a salad-preparation kitchen orders 30 kg of one slicing variety each Wednesday, packed as three labelled 10 kg lots. Agree a length-and-diameter range from a physical sample, not an unsupported universal grade. The purchase excludes bitter, soft, badly curved or scarred fruit as individually agreed. Supply whole cucumbers for the kitchen to prepare; do not promise washed ready-to-eat safety. Give the buyer a lot sheet linking crate weights to planting block and harvest date.
Who is the first customer?
