Farm photography service in Kenya: Operations and Quality Checks
Deliver the agreed result consistently
Define the photo set by its purpose and owner permissions, distinguishing progress evidence from marketing images before photographing people, plots or sensitive facilities.
The operating sequence for this offer is:
- Agree the farmer's shot list, access permission and image uses, identifying confidential locations or people that must not appear in public material.
- Capture dated task-focused images safely, linking files to the correct farm area and avoiding staging or edits that misrepresent crop or animal conditions.
- Deliver organized files and obtain owner approval before publication, documenting any agreed restrictions on location details and future reuse.
Put acceptance into the job record
Do not stage misleading yield or condition images or disclose private locations without approval.
Have the owner review selected images against the shot list, checking location labels and captions make them useful for the agreed business purpose.
Inspect at the point where a correction is still possible, then again at handover. Record rejected or incomplete output separately from accepted output. A completed task is not automatically an accepted task, and an invoice does not establish that the customer received the right result.
Measure real capacity
Time preparation, the main operation, transport, cleaning, approvals and correction as applicable. The slowest stage determines how much you can promise. Where two orders need the same person, space or equipment at the same time, resolve the conflict before confirming both deadlines. An additional enquiry should not erase a commitment already made.
| Operating checkpoint | Evidence for this business |
|---|---|
| Before starting | Define the photo set by its purpose and owner permissions, distinguishing progress evidence from marketing images before photographing people, plots or sensitive facilities. |
| During delivery | Capture dated task-focused images safely, linking files to the correct farm area and avoiding staging or edits that misrepresent crop or animal conditions. |
| At acceptance | Have the owner review selected images against the shot list, checking location labels and captions make them useful for the agreed business purpose. |
| At the pilot review | Keep capture dates, location references, approved selections and publication permissions together, enabling useful comparisons without confusing plots or exceeding the owner's instructions about reuse. |
Keep a correction and escalation rule
When inputs, access, specifications or customer instructions change, pause the affected work and confirm the effect on time and cost. Do not quietly lower the acceptance standard to avoid a delayed delivery. Keep rework caused by your error distinct from a customer-requested change of scope and agree the remedy clearly.
Attractive close-ups become poor progress records when they omit the wider location or reference needed to compare the same plot on later visits.
Retain the minimum records needed to investigate a complaint without disclosing unrelated personal information. Use measured delivery and actual acceptance as the basis for expanding capacity, rather than the maximum theoretical output of a tool or production line.
Operating control points for this exact offer
| Sequence | Work method | Release checkpoint |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Agree six area IDs, purpose, people permissions and confidential locations. | Owner approval identifies what may be captured and separately what may be published. |
| 2 | Walk safe routes with farm escort and set fixed repeat-view positions where practical. | No machinery zone, chemical store or unstable structure is entered for a shot. |
| 3 | Capture five agreed useful views per area with date and ID notes. | File sequence and notes distinguish two similar crop blocks without guessing later. |
| 4 | Review focus, exposure and factual captions; retain original condition and avoid staging yield. | No cloned fruit, removed disease damage or misleading dated comparison enters deliverables. |
| 5 | Deliver thirty labelled files privately and apply agreed metadata/retention rules. | Six areas × five views = thirty files, with explicit exceptions; location and people sharing follow permissions. |
Do not substitute a tick for an observation: record the count, measurement, approved sample or evidence reference used at each checkpoint. Mark unresolved work as held and identify who can approve the recheck.
Diagnose a failure before repeating it
| Observed symptom to investigate | Check the cause | Proposed response |
|---|---|---|
| Two blocks are miscaptioned | Compare area notes and original sequence | Hold delivery and resolve with owner. |
| Worker appears without agreed permission | Check intended use and permission scope | Exclude or appropriately de-identify after review; do not publish automatically. |
| Progress comparison uses different angles | Check repeat-view references | Label the limitation or reshoot safely; do not imply measured change. |
These are diagnostic prompts, not proof of the cause in a real incident. Separate suspect output, record any correction and repeat the relevant acceptance check. Link rejected units, rework time, replacement materials, customer credits and collection delays to the actual job result.
