Handwritten card service in Kenya: Customers and Market Demand

The buyer and the buying decision

personal and corporate senders The offer to test is: Handwritten messages from approved text in a specified style

Offer handwritten cards with agreed message text, handwriting style, stationery, envelope addressing, and privacy handling, confirming whether the buyer wants literal transcription or approved editing.

Separate interest from an accepted order

Prepare several handwriting samples and time short messages

The purpose of this test is to establish whether the buyer accepts the specified result, delivery arrangement and payment terms. An encouraging interview does not establish repeat demand. Ask what the buyer currently uses, what would make them change supplier and who has authority to approve the first order. Record a refusal as carefully as an enquiry so that unsuccessful offers do not disappear from the evidence.

Collect evidence specific to this offer

Record approved text version, handwriting sample choice, corrections, stationery waste, fulfilment checks, and buyer feedback while following the agreed handling of sensitive personal message content afterward.

Question to resolveEvidence to retain
What exactly will the buyer accept?Have a second reader compare the finished card with the approved text, checking names, omitted lines, ink marks, envelope match, and overall legibility before sealing it.
What is included in the first trial?Offer handwritten cards with agreed message text, handwriting style, stationery, envelope addressing, and privacy handling, confirming whether the buyer wants literal transcription or approved editing.
How will a prospect see the offer?Show event planners real handwriting samples, an error-checking workflow and a bounded offer for personalized cards of a stated message length.
What must happen before repeating the trial?Readable correct message and right recipient

Decide whether to continue

Review the specification with the buyer before committing to tools or stock. A trial is commercially useful only if actual costs, rejected work, time spent and cash collected can be reconciled. A heartfelt message can be undermined by an attractive but difficult script or a corrected name that remains visibly crossed out on the final card delivered to recipients.

If a buyer changes the required output, record a new scope and re-cost the test. Do not count a request for a different product as proof of demand for the original one. Keep personal contact details in your private records and use customer statements publicly only with permission.

Turn the example into a buyer test

Fictional handwriting commission: write twenty customer-supplied messages of up to eighty words each inside A6 folded cards, then address twenty C6 envelopes from a private approved list. Total maximum message workload is 1,600 words, plus envelope addresses. Use your own consistent handwriting style, not impersonating another person’s signature. Scope includes a writing sample and one spelling-proof pass; excludes postage, forged signatures, deceptive testimonials and inventing personal sentiments the buyer has not approved.

Buyer discussionEvidence to retain
Specification to confirmDo not infer a person’s address or shorten a name because it is difficult to fit.
Output to inspectDo not photograph private messages for a portfolio or post anything without separate authorisation.
Failure that can defeat acceptanceInk feathers around letters

Ask the buyer to describe one acceptable and one unacceptable result. Record the decision maker, price basis, quantity, handover point and payment date privately. A sample request, an encouraging conversation and an accepted order are different evidence. Keep the first commitment within your demonstrated capacity; no customer interview or successful trial is asserted here.

What a failed test should change

Check the full stock/pen sample under normal drying conditions.. If the offer cannot meet that check, revise the specification or process before promising a repeat. Keep rejected offers and reasons in the same register as positive replies so that your record does not exaggerate demand.
