Interview preparation workshops in Kenya: Customers and Market Demand
The buyer and the buying decision
jobseekers The offer to test is: Interview-preparation workshop with a mock interview and feedback
Plan interview practice for the intended role and format, developing truthful examples, relevant questions, and flexible responses rather than invented achievements or identical memorized answers.
Separate interest from an accepted order
Pilot a small mock session using realistic role questions
The purpose of this test is to establish whether the buyer accepts the specified result, delivery arrangement and payment terms. An encouraging interview does not establish repeat demand. Ask what the buyer currently uses, what would make them change supplier and who has authority to approve the first order. Record a refusal as carefully as an enquiry so that unsuccessful offers do not disappear from the evidence.
Collect evidence specific to this offer
Keep practice questions, evidence gaps, follow-up difficulties, revisions, and learner reflections without unnecessary personal histories, evaluating practical preparation rather than confidence reported immediately after instruction.
| Question to resolve | Evidence to retain |
|---|---|
| What exactly will the buyer accept? | Run a role-specific mock interview, checking relevant answers, understandable evidence, and truthfulness, then let learners retry difficult questions after concrete feedback rather than merely hearing model answers. |
| What is included in the first trial? | Plan interview practice for the intended role and format, developing truthful examples, relevant questions, and flexible responses rather than invented achievements or identical memorized answers. |
| How will a prospect see the offer? | Offer jobseeker groups sample role questions, a mock-interview feedback sheet and a clear description of practice and feedback deliverables. |
| What must happen before repeating the trial? | Learner supports answers with truthful examples |
Decide whether to continue
Review the specification with the buyer before committing to tools or stock. A trial is commercially useful only if actual costs, rejected work, time spent and cash collected can be reconciled. Rehearsed answers collapse under follow-up questions when learners cannot explain their examples, making truthful evidence and flexibility more useful than scripts presented as universal employment solutions.
If a buyer changes the required output, record a new scope and re-cost the test. Do not count a request for a different product as proof of demand for the original one. Keep personal contact details in your private records and use customer statements publicly only with permission.
Turn the example into a buyer test
Fictional interview-preparation workshop for six adults: each practises a five-question mock interview for a selected role and receives private notes. Recording is optional with explicit permission; no recruiter representation or hiring guarantee.
| Buyer discussion | Evidence to retain |
|---|---|
| Specification to confirm | Questions relate to the role and avoid unnecessary sensitive personal information. |
| Output to inspect | Learner retains private notes; recordings are deleted under agreed terms. |
| Failure that can defeat acceptance | Answer stays vague |
Ask the buyer to describe one acceptable and one unacceptable result. Record the decision maker, price basis, quantity, handover point and payment date privately. A sample request, an encouraging conversation and an accepted order are different evidence. Keep the first commitment within your demonstrated capacity; no customer interview or successful trial is asserted here.
What a failed test should change
Ask what the learner personally did.. If the offer cannot meet that check, revise the specification or process before promising a repeat. Keep rejected offers and reasons in the same register as positive replies so that your record does not exaggerate demand.
