Office Lunch Delivery Startup Costs in Kenya

Budget the complete service before buying cooking equipment

The opening budget depends on your approved premises, menu, portion, daily order cap and receiving route. A home kitchen, shared kitchen and dedicated unit have different suitability and cost questions. Do not sign a lease or buy a bulk equipment package before confirming the intended food activity and facilities with the responsible authority.

LabourPreparation, cooking, packing, cleaning, ordering and delivery time

Working cashSupplier due dates versus customer collection dates

Separate tools that remain available after the pilot from ingredients and packaging consumed in each run. Record deposits separately. Compare equivalent specifications and delivered costs; the price of a container without its lid, delivery or minimum pack quantity is not a complete packaging quotation.

Find the hidden capacity expense

The cooker is not necessarily the bottleneck. Ingredient preparation, safe packing space, a second check of labels or building handover may limit the number of lunches you can deliver. Time those stages before buying another large appliance. Increasing cooking capacity does not solve a packing or delivery constraint.

Include a food-safety review and realistic route test in the setup plan. An insulated bag's marketing description is not evidence that your menu remains safe under the actual load, journey and waiting conditions. Obtain competent advice on the required controls and monitoring before accepting recurring orders.

Protect the cash through the trial

List the dates for ingredient purchases, kitchen payments, packaging orders, wages, transport and customer collections. An employer's purchase order is not cash available to restock. Do not fund one customer's delayed payment with advances needed to fulfil another customer's meals.

No verified startup total is established here. Use written quotes, actual trial records and an affordable loss limit. If the plan cannot finance the complete pilot, narrow the menu, order cap or route before making the commitment.
