Packaging artwork service in Kenya: Equipment and Supplies

Buy for the acceptance standard

The procurement decision starts with the result you must deliver: Artwork folds and aligns correctly and production content is signed off.

Assemble an unprinted or proofed sample, then check panel orientation, folds, glue areas, barcode placement, text visibility, and whether the packed product still matches the intended presentation.

A tool or material is suitable only when it can support this specification at the pilot scale. Use the following shortlist as a starting point, not a compulsory shopping package:

  • printer dieline
  • design tool
  • verified copy
  • mock-up materials

Ask for the exact unit or pack size, rather than accepting a price without a quantity. Where equipment is involved, check maintenance needs, safe operation, available support and whether you can obtain replacement consumables. Inspect a sample or demonstration where practical. A photograph and a low asking price do not prove suitability or available stock.

Connect procurement to the operating sequence

  1. Obtain the printers current dieline and the producers verified pack content, then record product variants, material and required approval contacts.
  2. Design each panel within the approved structure, create a physical mock-up and query any fold, label or claim conflict before production approval.
  3. Check the final export with the printer and producer, retain signed proofs and document that compliance approval remains separate from graphic design.

At each step, identify the input whose absence would stop delivery. Arrange that input before accepting a deadline. Compare buying with suitable hire or a competent subcontractor, while keeping the responsibility for inspection and customer handover explicit.

Inspect before release to use

Retain the quote and check the delivered specification, quantity, condition and identifying details. Keep unsuitable items separate while you resolve the discrepancy. Record supplier identity and payment reference privately; do not post customer or supplier personal data in a public planning sheet.

Cost dieline coordination, artwork, prototypes, material samples, print proofs, variant adaptation, and discarded packaging from fit or assembly corrections rather than treating a flat visual as production completion.

Limit the first purchase to the agreed scope: Build packaging artwork around the converter's approved dieline, product presentation, opening experience, and required information supplied by the client, identifying which surfaces remain visible after assembly begins. Expand the resource list only when actual orders and measured capacity justify it.

Exact procurement specifications for this offer

ItemSpecification to quoteAcceptance evidence
Approved dielineManufacturer-specific vector template with finished dimensions and board choice.Request a blank assembled sample to check the real contents before decoration approval.
Client copy/identifiersBrand, four-card unit description and authorised code files.Confirm whether envelopes are included so printed contents match the sale unit.
Mockup/proof materialTwo A3 printed paper dummies for orientation, not structural load testing.Ask manufacturer to provide actual-board proof if fit/closure cannot be assessed on ordinary paper.

A usable quotation states the exact variant, comparison unit, minimum order, delivered quantity, tax, delivery charge, payment dates, expiry and exclusions. Obtain written clarification of substitutions; compare only equivalent scopes. Match the delivered item against the same check before releasing it to use.

Supplier evidence and limits

  • Small packaging-box listing: KSh 55.00 per one box; captured 100 total 5500; Corrugated, tuck-end standard, no finish, Small(up to 15 cm),100–499 tier; exact cavity unspecified. Printred, Nairobi, recorded 2026-10-26. Artwork/delivery excluded; tax and precise dimensions unresolved. Not a quote for 150×110×20 mm example or a structural/food-contact certification.

Any listing above is an earlier observation, not a fresh quotation or confirmed stock. Reconfirm suitability and landed cost. The supplier comparison in the operating pack separates purchase quantity from usable requirement when a minimum order creates surplus.
