Salon social content service in Kenya: Customers and Market Demand
The buyer and the buying decision
Salon owners with a clear service menu. The offer to test is: Create a consent-based content package for a salon portfolio.
Plan salon content around services, appointment availability, stylist capabilities, and client image permissions, agreeing how enquiries reach the booking person without exposing private customer information publicly.
Separate interest from an accepted order
Draft a small set of posts using approved service images.
The purpose of this test is to establish whether the buyer accepts the specified result, delivery arrangement and payment terms. An encouraging interview does not establish repeat demand. Ask what the buyer currently uses, what would make them change supplier and who has authority to approve the first order. Record a refusal as carefully as an enquiry so that unsuccessful offers do not disappear from the evidence.
Collect evidence specific to this offer
Keep service approvals, consent records, appointment-slot references, booking enquiries, misunderstood offers, stylist feedback, and corrections needed when customers interpret images differently from the salon's intended message.
| Question to resolve | Evidence to retain |
|---|---|
| What exactly will the buyer accept? | Ask the salon to check service descriptions and demonstrate the booking handover, while confirming every before-and-after image has appropriate consent and represents the actual work. |
| What is included in the first trial? | Plan salon content around services, appointment availability, stylist capabilities, and client image permissions, agreeing how enquiries reach the booking person without exposing private customer information publicly. |
| How will a prospect see the offer? | Show salon owners a sample that uses licensed or consented imagery. |
| What must happen before repeating the trial? | Client consent and truthful treatment descriptions are documented. |
Decide whether to continue
Review the specification with the buyer before committing to tools or stock. A trial is commercially useful only if actual costs, rejected work, time spent and cash collected can be reconciled. Content can generate unsuitable demand when a dramatic transformation omits the consultation, maintenance expectations, or service limitations the salon would normally explain before accepting a booking.
If a buyer changes the required output, record a new scope and re-cost the test. Do not count a request for a different product as proof of demand for the original one. Keep personal contact details in your private records and use customer statements publicly only with permission.
Turn the example into a buyer test
Fictional salon package SAL-23 produces four service explainer posts and two consented styling-result posts for one salon. A sample service caption is 'Braiding consultation: send your preferred style and appointment date to [salon contact]. Staff confirm hair preparation, duration and total price before booking.' A six-row calendar identifies which posts require a client image and which can use tools or a mannequin. Booking administration, medical hair/scalp claims, retouching that invents results and guaranteed appointment growth are excluded.
| Buyer discussion | Evidence to retain |
|---|---|
| Specification to confirm | Each post describes a service the branch actually offers; extensions or products are not silently included. |
| Output to inspect | Staff can identify the advertised service and explain price inclusions without guessing from a caption. |
| Failure that can defeat acceptance | Client objects to an image |
Ask the buyer to describe one acceptable and one unacceptable result. Record the decision maker, price basis, quantity, handover point and payment date privately. A sample request, an encouraging conversation and an accepted order are different evidence. Keep the first commitment within your demonstrated capacity; no customer interview or successful trial is asserted here.
What a failed test should change
Check its specific permission record and use scope.. If the offer cannot meet that check, revise the specification or process before promising a repeat. Keep rejected offers and reasons in the same register as positive replies so that your record does not exaggerate demand.
