Small office relocation in Kenya: Customers and Market Demand

The buyer and the buying decision

Small offices changing premises. The offer to test is: Coordinate office relocation with a staged inventory and continuity plan.

Plan the relocation around the office's first usable working day, separating furniture movement from authorized IT reconnection, confidential records, keys, and essential service restoration.

Separate interest from an accepted order

Survey one small office and separate records, IT and furniture responsibilities.

The purpose of this test is to establish whether the buyer accepts the specified result, delivery arrangement and payment terms. An encouraging interview does not establish repeat demand. Ask what the buyer currently uses, what would make them change supplier and who has authority to approve the first order. Record a refusal as carefully as an enquiry so that unsuccessful offers do not disappear from the evidence.

Collect evidence specific to this offer

Record asset locations, sealed-record transfers, priority workstation labels, dependencies on external technicians, access changes, signed inventories, and outstanding tasks with named responsible office contacts.

Question to resolveEvidence to retain
What exactly will the buyer accept?Ask department representatives to reconcile assets and demonstrate agreed workstations are available, while separately listing restoration tasks that require the office's own specialist providers.
What is included in the first trial?Plan the relocation around the office's first usable working day, separating furniture movement from authorized IT reconnection, confidential records, keys, and essential service restoration.
How will a prospect see the offer?Approach office managers early with a written transition checklist.
What must happen before repeating the trial?Asset list matches delivery and confidential records remain controlled.

Decide whether to continue

Review the specification with the buyer before committing to tools or stock. A trial is commercially useful only if actual costs, rejected work, time spent and cash collected can be reconciled. Moving every desk successfully still disappoints the client if staff cannot locate chargers, access records, or identify which provider must restore connectivity on arrival.

If a buyer changes the required output, record a new scope and re-cost the test. Do not count a request for a different product as proof of demand for the original one. Keep personal contact details in your private records and use customer statements publicly only with permission.

Turn the example into a buyer test

Fictional office relocation OFF-11 moves four desks, four chairs, two lockable filing cabinets and eight sealed archive cartons from one office suite to another. The coordinator supplies a twenty-item inventory, numbered destination plan and a timed handover sheet. The business's IT provider handles computers, backup validation, network reconnection and secure device disposal separately. The client controls confidential files and keeps cabinet keys. No copying of archive contents, live electrical work, overnight storage or claim of complete business continuity is included. The sample room plan assigns desks D1–D4 and chairs C1–C4 to workstations W1–W4.

Buyer discussionEvidence to retain
Specification to confirmThe manager approves the twenty-item list and identifies the file custodian before crew booking.
Output to inspectAll twenty references are delivered, returned or explicitly unresolved; business reopening is a client decision.
Failure that can defeat acceptanceArchive carton appears open

Ask the buyer to describe one acceptable and one unacceptable result. Record the decision maker, price basis, quantity, handover point and payment date privately. A sample request, an encouraging conversation and an accepted order are different evidence. Keep the first commitment within your demonstrated capacity; no customer interview or successful trial is asserted here.

What a failed test should change

Compare seal reference and custody entries.. If the offer cannot meet that check, revise the specification or process before promising a repeat. Keep rejected offers and reasons in the same register as positive replies so that your record does not exaggerate demand.
