Small wedding coordination in Kenya: Customers and Market Demand
The buyer and the buying decision
Couples who have selected a venue but need practical event-day organization. The offer to test is: Coordinate a small wedding day's schedule and supplier handovers.
Coordinate a small wedding through an agreed ceremony and reception plan, defining couple approvals, supplier handovers, venue rules, family contacts, and responsibility for simultaneous activities.
Separate interest from an accepted order
Sell a limited coordination package for a manageable guest count and documented vendor list.
The purpose of this test is to establish whether the buyer accepts the specified result, delivery arrangement and payment terms. An encouraging interview does not establish repeat demand. Ask what the buyer currently uses, what would make them change supplier and who has authority to approve the first order. Record a refusal as carefully as an enquiry so that unsuccessful offers do not disappear from the evidence.
Collect evidence specific to this offer
Record supplier commitments, timeline versions, venue restrictions, decision contacts, actual milestone times, unexpected changes, and unresolved handovers that should improve the next small wedding coordination plan.
| Question to resolve | Evidence to retain |
|---|---|
| What exactly will the buyer accept? | Have the couple and key suppliers review the timeline together, checking transport, setup, ceremony cues, meal service, and the contact authorized to decide unexpected changes. |
| What is included in the first trial? | Coordinate a small wedding through an agreed ceremony and reception plan, defining couple approvals, supplier handovers, venue rules, family contacts, and responsibility for simultaneous activities. |
| How will a prospect see the offer? | Partner with venues and explain the difference between planning and day coordination. |
| What must happen before repeating the trial? | Key timings, vendor handovers and agreed tasks are documented; legal ceremony services are excluded. |
Decide whether to continue
Review the specification with the buyer before committing to tools or stock. A trial is commercially useful only if actual costs, rejected work, time spent and cash collected can be reconciled. Coordination fails when separate suppliers follow different timelines or the couple must resolve routine setup questions because family members and coordinators lack clear decision authority during events.
If a buyer changes the required output, record a new scope and re-cost the test. Do not count a request for a different product as proof of demand for the original one. Keep personal contact details in your private records and use customer statements publicly only with permission.
Turn the example into a buyer test
Fictional WED-142 coordinates a 40-guest wedding day with ceremony 14:00, photographs 14:45, meal 16:00 and close 19:00. Output is a couple-approved timeline, named vendor leads, seating-change log and rental closeout. The coordinator does not solemnise marriages, provide security or certify structures; ceremony/legal requirements remain with appropriate authorised parties.
| Buyer discussion | Evidence to retain |
|---|---|
| Specification to confirm | Do not accept contradictory family changes silently. |
| Output to inspect | Couple receives outstanding issues and approved costs. |
| Failure that can defeat acceptance | Family gives conflicting cue |
Ask the buyer to describe one acceptable and one unacceptable result. Record the decision maker, price basis, quantity, handover point and payment date privately. A sample request, an encouraging conversation and an accepted order are different evidence. Keep the first commitment within your demonstrated capacity; no customer interview or successful trial is asserted here.
What a failed test should change
Check named approver.. If the offer cannot meet that check, revise the specification or process before promising a repeat. Keep rejected offers and reasons in the same register as positive replies so that your record does not exaggerate demand.
