Window cleaning service in Kenya: Customers and Market Demand
The buyer and the buying decision
Households and shop operators with accessible glazing. The offer to test is: Window cleaning with a clearly bounded safe-access scope and glass-type assessment.
Quote individual glazing zones with their opening arrangements, screens and frame tracks, limiting the service to access methods that can be safely planned beforehand onsite.
Separate interest from an accepted order
Test ground-access work and measure glass area, frames and travel time.
The purpose of this test is to establish whether the buyer accepts the specified result, delivery arrangement and payment terms. An encouraging interview does not establish repeat demand. Ask what the buyer currently uses, what would make them change supplier and who has authority to approve the first order. Record a refusal as carefully as an enquiry so that unsuccessful offers do not disappear from the evidence.
Collect evidence specific to this offer
Record pane access, frame-soil level, viewing-light complaints and travel time, then group similar accessible windows into routes that reduce repeated setup and collection costs locally.
| Question to resolve | Evidence to retain |
|---|---|
| What exactly will the buyer accept? | Inspect cleaned glass from both sides and different viewing positions, checking that apparent streaks are not existing scratches, trapped condensation or coating damage inside the pane. |
| What is included in the first trial? | Quote individual glazing zones with their opening arrangements, screens and frame tracks, limiting the service to access methods that can be safely planned beforehand onsite. |
| How will a prospect see the offer? | Offer accessible-window packages and refer high-risk access work to properly equipped specialists. |
| What must happen before repeating the trial? | Agreed panes and frames cleaned without scratches or uncontrolled working-at-height exposure. |
Decide whether to continue
Review the specification with the buyer before committing to tools or stock. A trial is commercially useful only if actual costs, rejected work, time spent and cash collected can be reconciled. Glass looks clear head-on but obvious streaks appear in afternoon light, prompting a return trip that exceeds the value of a small isolated booking itself.
If a buyer changes the required output, record a new scope and re-cost the test. Do not count a request for a different product as proof of demand for the original one. Keep personal contact details in your private records and use customer statements publicly only with permission.
Turn the example into a buyer test
Fictional ground-level window job: twelve panes, each approximately one square metre, cleaned on both accessible faces where safe, plus the agreed frames and sills. Photograph cracks and scratched panes before work. No ladders, roof edges, external facade access or removal of painted decoration is included. Count faces as well as panes in the quotation so a buyer cannot reasonably expect inaccessible outside glass for the same scope.
| Buyer discussion | Evidence to retain |
|---|---|
| Specification to confirm | The buyer signs the face count and any excluded external sections. |
| Output to inspect | The twelve-pane sheet has a completion tick for every included face. |
| Failure that can defeat acceptance | Parallel streak repeats in the same place |
Ask the buyer to describe one acceptable and one unacceptable result. Record the decision maker, price basis, quantity, handover point and payment date privately. A sample request, an encouraging conversation and an accepted order are different evidence. Keep the first commitment within your demonstrated capacity; no customer interview or successful trial is asserted here.
What a failed test should change
Inspect the squeegee edge for a nick or grit and check the repeat pattern.. If the offer cannot meet that check, revise the specification or process before promising a repeat. Keep rejected offers and reasons in the same register as positive replies so that your record does not exaggerate demand.
