Interior painting in Kenya: Marketing and Finding Buyers

Reach a buyer who can accept the offer

Landlords refreshing a vacant rental between tenants.

Offer caretakers a room-by-room quotation rather than a whole-house guess.

Begin with the problem and specification rather than promising a return on investment you cannot establish. The proposed output is: Repaint a defined set of indoor walls, with a written preparation and colour schedule.

Make the first message specific

Explain what you will deliver, what is excluded and what the prospect needs to confirm before a quotation. Use this scope when preparing a sample, demonstration or introduction:

Agree paint boundaries, preparation standard and occupied-room arrangements before colour selection, identifying dampness or unstable surfaces that need assessment rather than simply another coat.

Ask who approves purchases, who accepts the output and how payment is arranged. These can be different people. An informal recommendation is useful for an introduction but does not replace the buyer's approval.

Use proof that matches the promise

Approve a sample area under the room's ordinary lighting and inspect dried coverage with the customer, checking edges, protected fixtures and recorded surface limitations.

Keep approved examples, inspection records or handover evidence that demonstrate this result. Obtain permission before using a customer's name, photograph, premises or work. Do not invent reviews, imply an endorsement or display private contact details as marketing proof.

Follow the lead through to collection

StageWhat to record
ContactSource of the introduction and permission to follow up.
Qualified enquiryRequired specification, buying authority and timing.
QuotationScope, exclusions, price, delivery and payment stages.
Accepted resultApprove a sample area under the room's ordinary lighting and inspect dried coverage with the customer, checking edges, protected fixtures and recorded surface limitations.
Repeat decisionRecord paint identifiers, preparation findings, sample approval and touch-up requests, then compare actual labour across sound walls and rooms needing extensive surface preparation.

Quote one vacant room and time protection, preparation and cleanup separately.

Review what it cost to obtain and fulfil a paying order, including travel and follow-up. High enquiry counts do not compensate for a route or delivery arrangement that loses money. Keep cancellations, complaints and refusals visible when evaluating a channel.

The customer approves a colour from a small card but dislikes it across the wall, forcing avoidable rework because an actual-room sample was never agreed.

Expand outreach only when the promised scope can be delivered reliably. Use permission-based follow-up and an achievable response time instead of bulk unsolicited messages.

A scope-led outreach draft

The supplied draft below is ready to adapt, not a message already sent:

I can quote this measured 20-square-metre wall after checking its existing finish. Please approve a dried colour sample and the preparation scope first. We inspect the dried result together; moisture causes, hazardous old coatings and structural repairs are separate specialist work.

Replace claims with proof of this offer

Sales claim to substantiateEvidence before repeating the promise
Required resultOwner compares the wall with the approved dried sample and records repairs or damp issues excluded.
Input suitabilityObtain local PDS/SDS and calculate actual pack quantity from coat plan and area.
Failure to address honestlyPatchy sheen appears after drying

Remove placeholders and replace assumed prices with an approved scope and actual cost estimate. Do not advertise technical certification, current stock, guaranteed income or results you cannot substantiate. Record enquiries, accepted quotes, declined quotes, delivered orders and collected balances separately; a sent message is not a sale.
