Wig fitting service in Kenya: Operations and Quality Checks

Deliver the agreed result consistently

Define the wig fitting around the unit's actual cap and fibre, the client's comfort needs, and the supported attachment or cosmetic styling methods within the operator's training.

The operating sequence for this offer is:

  1. Discuss wearing preferences. Record the requested cosmetic scope and relevant product sensitivities with consent. Decline work outside training or requiring clinical assessment.
  2. measure fit. Separate clean tools from used ones and follow the product instructions. Record the selected style and any agreed change before proceeding.
  3. adjust within product limits. Check client comfort during the trained service and stop if an adverse reaction appears. Record products used without inventing medical explanations.
  4. check comfort and care instructions. Show the result and explain supported aftercare. Clean and prepare the station before the next client, and document any unresolved concern.

Put acceptance into the job record

Comfortable fit with honest limits on security, heat styling and maintenance.

Have the client wear and gently move in the fitted unit, checking pressure points, placement, access to adjustment features, and understanding of the agreed removal method.

Inspect at the point where a correction is still possible, then again at handover. Record rejected or incomplete output separately from accepted output. A completed task is not automatically an accepted task, and an invoice does not establish that the customer received the right result.

Measure real capacity

Time preparation, the main operation, transport, cleaning, approvals and correction as applicable. The slowest stage determines how much you can promise. Where two orders need the same person, space or equipment at the same time, resolve the conflict before confirming both deadlines. An additional enquiry should not erase a commitment already made.

At the pilot reviewRecord unit identification, fibre information, cap measurements, attachment choices, client comfort feedback, styling restrictions, and the maintenance or removal steps demonstrated at the completed fitting.

Keep a correction and escalation rule

When inputs, access, specifications or customer instructions change, pause the affected work and confirm the effect on time and cost. Do not quietly lower the acceptance standard to avoid a delayed delivery. Keep rework caused by your error distinct from a customer-requested change of scope and agree the remedy clearly.

A visually convincing fit can disappoint when it becomes uncomfortable during ordinary movement or the client cannot safely repeat the placement and removal process alone.

Retain the minimum records needed to investigate a complaint without disclosing unrelated personal information. Use measured delivery and actual acceptance as the basis for expanding capacity, rather than the maximum theoretical output of a tool or production line.

1Before confirming any adjustment booking, obtain the actual wig maker/model and its applicable cap-sizing, fitting and adjustment instructions from the manufacturer or documented supplier. Record the document reference and permitted adjustment range on each of three intake cards, alongside fibre declaration, cap construction and existing condition. Care guidance alone does not establish fit or adjustment method. No cap adjustment is accepted or attempted until applicable actual-model instructions and operator competence are verified. Unknown model or missing instructions means defer adjustment; offer only a clearly priced non-adjusting consultation if client agrees.
2Ask client to show slipping, pressure or coverage concern in their usual wearing arrangement. Write the requested position and allowed adjustments on the card; confirm whether client supplies any cap. This pilot does not add adhesive or remove lace.Client approves cosmetic fitting scope and understands that incompatible cap size may mean no completed fitting.
3Set out three labelled smooth wig stands, three fresh client caps where used, and separate clean linen/tools for each appointment. Inspect stand edges for snag points and isolate previously used accessories for processing. No cap passes between clients and no unprocessed brush returns to clean storage.
4After the pre-booking document gate is passed, a suitably trained operator follows that actual model’s documented fitting and adjustment method, changing only supported settings. Record starting/final settings and client feedback about pressure or slipping. Do not improvise glue, stretch a cap or infer adjustment permission from generic wig-care guidance.Client confirms comfortable fit within documented model range. Hold/defer an incompatible fit; missing model instructions cannot be cured by client approval alone.
5Show the client how to put on, remove and store that actual model using maker-supported handling. Ask client to repeat the adjustment/removal demonstration without pulling fibre or stressing cap. Record remaining care unknowns and return original accessories.Only appointments with an agreed comfortable fit and understandable handling are completed; failed fits follow written consultation terms.

Do not substitute a tick for an observation: record the count, measurement, approved sample or evidence reference used at each checkpoint. Mark unresolved work as held and identify who can approve the recheck.

Diagnose a failure before repeating it

Observed symptom to investigateCheck the causeProposed response
Cap still slipsCompare measured adjustment range and actual cap construction.Reposition supported adjustments and repeat comfort check; decline an incompatible size rather than add unapproved glue.
Client reports pressureCheck contact areas and adjustment tension with client feedback.Loosen or stop; do not release a painful fit as acceptable.
Fibre unidentifiedCheck original packaging or maker model record.Keep heat/chemical work outside scope until identified; document care limitation.

These are diagnostic prompts, not proof of the cause in a real incident. Separate suspect output, record any correction and repeat the relevant acceptance check. Link rejected units, rework time, replacement materials, customer credits and collection delays to the actual job result.
