Wig fitting service in Kenya: Risks and Launch Plan
Set the conditions for a safe commercial test
- Adhesive sensitivity
- damage from incompatible heat
A visually convincing fit can disappoint when it becomes uncomfortable during ordinary movement or the client cannot safely repeat the placement and removal process alone.
A risk list is useful only when it changes a decision. For each risk, write the observable warning, who checks it and the response before the next commitment. Do not treat a reserve of money as permission to continue unsafe or unauthorized work.
Use a small, measurable pilot
Test fittings on genuine sample units and record adjustment limits.
The pilot scope is: Define the wig fitting around the unit's actual cap and fibre, the client's comfort needs, and the supported attachment or cosmetic styling methods within the operator's training.
| Gate | Evidence before continuing |
|---|---|
| Scope agreed | Define the wig fitting around the unit's actual cap and fibre, the client's comfort needs, and the supported attachment or cosmetic styling methods within the operator's training. |
| Output acceptable | Have the client wear and gently move in the fitted unit, checking pressure points, placement, access to adjustment features, and understanding of the agreed removal method. |
| Costs recorded | Include consultation, cap adjustment, compatible supplies, styling limits, and instruction time rather than assuming every purchased wig arrives ready for the same quick fitting procedure. |
| Buyer response recorded | Record unit identification, fibre information, cap measurements, attachment choices, client comfort feedback, styling restrictions, and the maintenance or removal steps demonstrated at the completed fitting. |
Stage the launch around prerequisites
First confirm the buyer specification and activity requirements. Then compare suppliers, establish suitable facilities and prepare the operating record. Run the bounded trial when those prerequisites are in place. Review actual costs, quality failures and cash collected before increasing the commitment.
This sequence is not a promise that the complete business cycle fits into 30 days. Growing periods, qualifications, approvals, seasonal access and customer buying cycles can require longer. Revise the schedule when a prerequisite changes rather than skipping it to meet a launch date.
Choose continue, revise, pause or stop
Continue only when the scoped result is accepted and direct costs and payment timing are workable. Revise one part of the offer if the problem is identifiable and affordable to test again. Pause when required information, permission, skills or resources are missing. Stop the affected work when safety, consent or lawful authority is uncertain.
Keep a maximum test loss and unpaid-balance limit suited to your actual funds. A successful single delivery is useful evidence, but it does not establish year-round demand or justify committing every available resource.
Tie launch milestones to observable checks
| Risk signal | Evidence to inspect | Response to test |
|---|---|---|
| Cap still slips | Compare measured adjustment range and actual cap construction. | Reposition supported adjustments and repeat comfort check; decline an incompatible size rather than add unapproved glue. |
| Client reports pressure | Check contact areas and adjustment tension with client feedback. | Loosen or stop; do not release a painful fit as acceptable. |
| Fibre unidentified | Check original packaging or maker model record. | Keep heat/chemical work outside scope until identified; document care limitation. |
Illustrative acceptance decision
Fictional worked acceptance decision: Two comfortable accepted fits and one incompatible cap are two completed fittings.
This is a teaching scenario, not a reported operator result.
Outstanding go / hold conditions
- No field trial, customer transaction or specialist validation occurred; these checks remain pending.
- Actual stock, unobserved costs, tax, delivery and applicable local requirements need confirmation.
- Actual cap-sizing/fitting/adjustment instructions have not been verified for the fictional client wigs. They are a mandatory pre-booking gate; care and hygiene sources do not supply them.
Assign an owner, evidence reference and review date to each unresolved condition. Do not give every milestone a fixed calendar date when it depends on a crop, production, approval or competence cycle. Run only a suitable limited trial, reconcile accepted output and actual cash, and record whether the evidence supports holding, revising, proceeding within the limit or stopping.
