Start with the actual farm and sales arrangement
A kale grower selling at the farm gate, a grower delivering to kiosks and a separate vegetable shop should not assume identical requirements. Describe the plot, county, water source, premises, transport and buyer arrangement when asking for guidance. This page identifies official enquiry routes; it does not determine every permit or tax obligation for every farm.
Water source and abstraction works
The Water Resources Authority describes a permitting process for water abstraction. Before constructing or changing abstraction works, ask WRA how its requirements apply to the actual source and proposal. Keep the response and any conditions with the farm records. Do not assume that access to land also settles rights to abstract water.
Business identity and local trading
Use the Business Registration Service's official route to confirm the registration question for the structure and name you intend to use. Ask the relevant county office about the actual trading or premises activity, including a separate shop, stall or packing location if proposed. Keep national registration separate from county and activity questions; one document should not be presented as universal approval.
Seed and pest-product questions
KEPHIS provides the official seed-certification route. Retain planting-source records so that a query about a seed lot can be investigated. The Pest Control Products Board publishes registered crop-product listings. The existence of a registered product does not itself establish suitability for your crop problem or authorize an improvised dose. Obtain competent diagnosis and follow the applicable product conditions; this guide supplies no chemical treatment prescription.
Buyer invoicing and payment records
KRA publishes a buyer-initiated invoicing workflow. Confirm the applicable invoicing arrangement with KRA and the buyer instead of assuming that a grower is automatically exempt or must follow a different trader's process. Keep required identity and transaction details private and provide them only through the appropriate authorized process.
Make the enquiry answer usable
Record the authority, question, date, exact operation described, answer and unresolved condition. Check whether an approval depends on location, scale or renewal. Revisit it when the water source, premises or business model changes. Until a prerequisite is clear, limit the test to activities that can be carried out safely and appropriately.
